It would take all the world’s efforts
to keep this contained-
the vocabulary of every language
to most-thoroughly be explained
creation claimed free-reign
over all
because true ingenius
had yet to be created
and history had yet to be written,
and civilization had yet to be discovered.
Use these words as motivation.
Let this only feed your determination.
The plot has thickened
as it has been left open
openly exposed
with no influence
to deter it’s direction
as a free-flow free-falls
enveloped in it’s weightlessness…
as if
a single leaf
had caught wind-
caught a lift-
off the tail
of a breeze.
Go. Gather the results,
and if they’re not what you
expected them to be,
then this won’t be pretty.
By all means,
we’re against all odds
without fail,
and they think they’ve got
consumerism as a constant
they think they’ve got you
locked in the grid
federally owned heads
hunched over,
faces buried in the sand.
Count out the statistics
and how they multiply
as we multiply,
tell the trade commission
I’m not buying;
not biting.
You have nothing to offer
nothing to trade
that is of value.
They can’t supply
our demands.
Lift the borders over our shoulders
Lift the floodgates
and let the tides come crashing down.
What of these relics?
What of these modern luxuries?
Take everything you’ll ever want or need,
and toss it in a cargo container
ship it freight
overseas
to our little society.
Lets turn the world around
three-hundred sixty degrees-
revolve around a different revolution.
Shake it up, with plate-techtonics
there’s a rumble in the jungle
and the tremours
can be felt
from your neck of the woods
as the ground trembles…
Awake advent children
now is your time to shine.
There’s an entire Empire
concealed within our hearts-
There’s a fierceness that burns
hotter than the pit of any star
in the galaxy
with it, let us cultivate
our very own culture
carve a form in the void
that resembles nothing
anyone has ever seen
or heard
or smelled
or tasted
or felt
before…
Beyond.
The cage swings open
and an exotic creature
is allowed to free-roam…
Outgrowing and outliving
it’s natural environments
as it bulges beyond it’s reach,
and embellishes everything.

From the book How to Be a Gentleman by John Bridges, and worth repeating.
1. A gentleman says “please” and “thank you,” readily and often.2. A gentleman does not disparage the beliefs of others—whether they relate to matters of faith, politics, or sports teams.3. A…
